Over the summer I’ve decided to take a little break from the norm and make some dresses for my kids. I am so busy with women’s fashions and dance items that often the clothing I want to make for my children gets pushed to the bottom of the to-do list. Last month, I penciled those dresses in on my schedule. No excuses! Since my focus for this summer is to use up a large amount of the vintage fabric I have collected over the years, it only seemed right to make those dresses from lovely vintage fabric. Here’s a peek at the bubble hem halter dress that I created for my youngest daughter.
This week I will be adding new listings on Etsy! I know it has been quite a long time since I have added anything new to my Etsy shop. Things got a little crazy with wholesale and retail orders back in the fall/early winter. Now that things have settled, I am able to get back on track with the boxes of items I have full of clothing and ready to ship!
I am adding clothing with multiple size options available. All pieces are in my studio ready to ship to you immediately! No need to wait for me to finish any of these pieces. They are currently waiting for you to purchase them! All of my clothing ships via Priority Mail, so you can expect your package to arrive 2-4 business days after your order is placed.
So, what will be listed? I have long sleeve and short sleeve twisted dresses both organic and non-organic cotton that should be in the shop this evening. There are 5 color options, but sizes are limited, so order fast! Also going up this week will be cream colored cardigans with a chocolate brown attached scarf, aqua chiffon layering tops, black pinstripe pants, two different suit skirts…I’m sure I’m missing something!
Anyway, check out the new listings on Etsy. All items are here and ready to ship! Happy shopping!
Dance season is officially in full swing here! I have been busily working on filling an order of 17 tutus for the Piscataquis Regional YMCA. These are elastic waist tutus with eight layers of bright pink tulle each. I am finding little bits of tulle stuck to my clothes and being dragged all around my house! The basic tutus are finished. I am currently working on closing up the backs with monofilament (so it won’t show from the stage). The final step will be to add some wide ribbon to the inside waistband which will cover up the serged edge. I am really looking forward to seeing these mini dancers all dressed up!
Along with the YMCA, I will be working with Stage Presence for Dancers again this year. This is my fourth year working with Heather and her amazing dancers! This year I will be taking an existing costume, removing the sewn-on skirt, and reattaching it with a separating zipper. This will enable the girls to wear this with or without the skirt for two separate and unique looks. There are 30 of these costumes, so my zipper foot will be getting a lot of use over the next month!
Dance season is my favorite time of year. I love being able to work with the dance instructors and students to create costumes that will bring their production to life. If you are interested in having costumes made for your dance studio, please contact me to set up a consultation.
Happy New Year! Start 2014 off right. New year, new wardrobe! After a much needed Christmas break, I am happy to report that I am back to work and ready to offer some new pieces for your wearing enjoyment.
This first piece is a versatile wrap-style cardigan that can be worn in many ways. Purchasers of this item will get a small instructional flyer on how to achieve the looks shown. This cardigan will be available in sizes XS-XL on Etsy by January 11th!
In addition to this fabulous cardigan, I will be offering spandex tanks for dance or other fitness sports. These are made of a medium weight spandex. Tanks will be listed on Etsy by January 11th. This style is unlined, but I will have a lightly lined version coming out mid-month.
New year, new wardrobe! Start the year with great things!
