It has been a long time since I’ve found a quiet moment to work on this website, design new apparel, finish up half-finished projects, or just sit and evaluate where I’m headed based on the lack of availability I currently have. Sewing and designing has been a passion of mine for over a decade. It is my outlet. There is a strange peace in the frustration of ripping out stitches that I made in error. So much joy can be found in choosing fabrics and deciding on the perfect trim and hardware that will make a dress design complete.
When I started this business, my husband and I had two young children ages 2 and 4. They have grown into smart, beautiful young ladies. After adopting from foster care, we now have four children ages 4, 6, 12, and 14. Days are chaotic at times…okay, most of the time.
Here we are. Two young ones that refuse naps and two older ones that require transportation to and from practices, youth group, and friend’s houses. There goes my time.
I am sad about the changes that seemed to happen overnight. My love of sewing is still there. I just cannot seem to find the time to get into my sewing room. New ideas are just not making it from paper sketches to patterns and attire. I know I will have plenty of time to get back to full speed once the kids are older. Just let me mourn for a bit.
I will still be posting ready to wear items on Etsy. Many of the designs there are available in multiple sizes and colors. For now, I will just be remaking those same styles in new fabrics. (No need to draft new patterns). I am unable to take any custom orders at this time. Not even for size differences.
I appreciate all of you hanging in there with me as our family grows and changes!
