It is a season of change in our house. We have been a homeschool family for over 10 years. Our oldest daughter is going to public school part time this year. It has its perks and drawbacks, which I am not going to get into. Change is hard.
Putting aside the good to do the best is also difficult. We recently had to say a temporary goodbye to a daughter’s beloved dance studio. The schedule just didn’t work for our family this year. The transition to a new studio will be challenging, but it is what is best for us right now.
As far as work goes, I have made some changes over the past month. Putting down custom orders and boutique business to focus only on making items as time allows has shown me that time does not allow much in this area right now! Etsy is still floating along on handmade items I have had on there for months. I have yet to add any new pieces. That being said, I have quite a few new pieces that are in various stages of production in my sewing room! Shorts that need elastic, a half-finished halter dress, a formal satin dress that needs a lining…the list goes on. Someday they will get finished!
I started selling on Poshmark and eBay last month as well. My handmade items are on there as well as thrifted finds. The past month brought in a little over $200 in sales. Not a bad start! My Posh closet has been increasing by 2-3 items per day which keeps my shop active and near the top of the search list. I have discovered some pretty interesting items in my thrifting travels and am connecting with some cool people in online reseller groups. I am learning which brands and styles are hot sellers and which brands to generally stay away from. Reselling is proving to be a viable side gig for a busy mom like myself.
I have included some photos of a few items I recently picked up while thrifting. If you would like to see more, please check out my Poshmark closet @angela04355. If you do not currently have a Posh account, use my code ANGELA04355 to get $10 off your first purchase!
