During the summer months, I often find it difficult to start new projects. The sun is shining, the garden needs tending, and the kids are constantly running in and out. Even with the lengthening of days, it seems there is just never enough time to soak up all of the sweet summer moments.
Today is one of those, slow-down days. Looking out the window, it is gray and the rain has been falling all morning. Blackberry muffins are fresh out of the oven and the kids are cozied up with a movie. This is the perfect day to start something new in the sewing room.
My current half-finished projects consist of a curtain for the boy’s room, a few draft dodgers for various entrances in our home (yes, I am preparing for the cooler weather), and a satin halter dress that I promised I would finish LAST summer. I should really finish these before attempting to begin something new. I have so many ideas swirling that focusing on the unfinished is a struggle.
You may have noticed the link to DoTERRA essential oils on my homepage. I have been using these oils for almost four years now. They have done amazing things for the physical and emotional health of my family. Today is definitely a good day to grab the bottle of ‘Motivation’, get the diffuser going, and get to work on these loose end projects! What do you like to do on the rainy summer days?
